First Days of School

These first two days of school were great for easing back into the school year. We learned a little about each other and met some new friends. The kids had a blast playing catch and learned quite a bit about those that sit closest to them in class. In the next couple of weeks, we will continue to get to know each other better and start working together to learn new things.

In math, we are going to be looking at place value and the importance that plays when dealing with numbers. We will also be experiencing the scientific method and completing experiments in groups of 3 or 4 students. Students reading homework will begin on September 1st so be looking for reading calendars to come home in our agenda binders. Finally, spelling starts this week! Spelling lists will be added to our agenda on Monday, with our final spelling test on Friday.

This is going to be a great year, and I am having a great time getting to know each student. If you have any concerns or questions, please email me, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
